This shell jacket is made of white cotton military drill on the same pattern as the Mexican War shell jacket.  There is no trim. There are two outside pockets on the front on each lower side. Sleeves have a non-functional cuff  This jacket uses the silver color   Mexican war buttons with “I” in shield 7/8” for a nine button front and one button on each epaulette.

#702       Uniform Jacket for Dragoons

This jacket is made of 18 ounce dark blue wool with 3/8” yellow tape trim on the collar, cuff,  epaulettes, down the front, bottom bolsters, down the curved back seams and around the bottom.  The front has a lower pocket on each side.  It has epaulettes, functional sleeves with two buttons for closure, and four buttons on the collar for decoration.  It has a 12 button front and uses brass Eagle buttons with “D” in shield (5/8”)

#710       Uniform Jacket for Dragoons  With Orange Trim

Trimmed with hand dyed orange tape (3/8”) on collar and cuff, front, bottom, bolsters and curved back seams..  Our coat is made of 18 oz. dark blue wool and has the false buttonholes on the tape stripe on the collar.  There is a correct hook on the collar.  The coat has an inside breast pocket and saber belt supporting bolsters on the rear at the waist. The uniform jacket uses eagle buttons with “D” in shield (5/8”): 12 button front, 2 on each cuff and 2 on each side of the collar for decoration.                                     (As #803 in Civil War Catalog)

#500       Suspenders     (Linen)           $23.50

The material used for most all suspenders in the period 1830 through 1870 was linen.  Cotton wore too quickly and leather was subject to stretching, cracking and breaking.  We produce suspenders of linen with leather ends for

buttoning, having (correct for the period ) brass adjustment buckles.  These are plain affairs intended to do an excellent job of holding up your trousers.  The intent is that you will appear to be military (or sensible civilian) person of the period.    The leather ends button onto the trousers with two buttons on each side of the front waistband and on the back with two buttons on the waistband.                                           

#TK500     Suspenders  (Blue & White or Tan & White Cotton)

Made as #500 Linen suspenders but are blue and white stripe cotton pillow ticking.      $23.50

We are now offering Patent brims for the forage cap and kepi.  These were done on both enlisted and officer's kepi and forage caps.  The original patent leather was 5 to 7 layers with sanding between coats that took time to build up to the correct finish.  These are not painted with shellac but instead a true multi-step process like the original patent leather.  These are not a stocked item and will be special order only.  There is an extra charge of $60.00 for these brims.

This cap is made of dark blue wool with the officer style brim, pointed in front with a painted cloth welt edge.  This cap does not have a neck cape.  Furnished with the correct 5/8” eagle shield cap buttons attached.

This cap is made of dark blue wool with the best style bill, nearly vertical visor pointed in front and a fold down neck cape about 4 inches wide.  .  Furnished with the correct 5/8” eagle in shield cap buttons attached.
